Advanced clinical interventions for complex pain, integrating modern neuro-anatomy with traditional technique.
If you are reading this, you likely fall into one of two categories:
We practice the most advanced form of acupuncture for pain relief available today. We do not rely on generic protocols or "energy balancing." We use Orthopedic Dry Needling — a precision-based, neuro-functional intervention that targets the specific neuromuscular dysfunction keeping you in pain.
Often misdiagnosed as infection, we treat the muscular guarding and neural irritation driving the pain.
Releasing the entrapment sites along the nerve path to restore sitting tolerance.
Resolving scar tissue and guarding after Hernia Repair or Prostatectomy.
Decompressing the lumbar muscles to take pressure off the nerve root.
Releasing deep cervical tension caused by prolonged desk work.
Treating the jaw and neck connection to resolve tension headaches.
Comprehensive recovery from Runner's Knee to Rotator Cuff strains.
MRIs often miss the soft-tissue reality. We use advanced palpation to map the "hardware" of your body. We trace the Myofascial Kinetic Chains and Jing Jin (Classical Sinew/Fascial Channels) to find the silent contributors to your pain—identifying the specific muscles that are hypoxic (starved of oxygen), shortened, or fibrotic.
This is the core of the treatment. We insert sterile, filiform needles directly into Motor Points and Trigger Points. The goal is to elicit a Local Twitch Response (LTR)—a spinal cord reflex that instantly resets the muscle's resting length and flushes out inflammatory chemicals.
Once the structure is released, we often use Electro-Acupuncture to modulate the nerve signal itself. By running a gentle, specialized current between needles, we can down-regulate "danger signals" traveling to the brain and stimulate the release of your body's own analgesic compounds.
"I don't guess. I assess. We use the needle as a medical instrument to communicate directly with your nervous system."— Dr. Jordan Barber
While acupuncture does not hurt, you may feel a “de qi” sensation—a deep, dull ache or heaviness. During dry needling, most people feel a quick muscle movement (local twitch response), a brief cramp, or a dull ache. It is not a sharp pain, but a deep "grab"—a sign that the structure has been released. The patient is always in control, and most find these sensations well-tolerated.
A targeted treatment using thin filiform needles to release trigger points and muscle tension in the pelvic floor. We maintain your comfort and privacy while working within your boundaries. Internal examination and techniques are not performed or required. I require all pelvic floor patients to have an active diagnosis from a qualified medical provider or pelvic floor physical therapist.
Recovery time varies based on your medical history and condition. Some issues get better after just a few visits, but long-term or tricky conditions might need 3–6 sessions or longer-term care. Dr. Barber will talk with you about your personal treatment plan during your first visit.
We are an out-of-network provider and can submit to most PPO insurance plans. Payment is due at the time of service, and reimbursement is sent directly to you based on your plan’s coverage.
